Important Update on CitynetTV Costs and Options
Effective March 1, 2025, the pricing for CitynetTV will increase.
CitynetTV prices will increase on March 1, 2025, and we want to share the reasons behind this necessary change.
The costs for content from local broadcast channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox), regional sports coverage (such as WVU, Pittsburgh, and Washington professional sports teams), and other programming have risen significantly. Unfortunately, these rising charges from content providers mean we must adjust prices to continue offering these services to our valued CitynetTV customers.
The Package Content Fee represents the cost of providing the channel content included in your selected package. This fee is determined by the rates we are charged by content providers on a per-customer basis. Unfortunately, these charges are some of the largest and fastest-growing expenses we face, and they are largely beyond our control.
The Retransmission Fee represents the costs charged by local affiliate channel owners for content that is otherwise free over the air. When Citynet includes these channels in our service, we are required to pay fees on a per-customer basis.
The Regional Sports Network Fee reflects the costs associated with providing regional sports networks as part of CitynetTV. This includes the fees charged by regional sports networks for their content, which represent some of our most significant and rapidly rising expenses. The Select package does not offer any of these affected channels, so there is no Regional Sports Network Fee for the Select CitynetTV package.
