Citynet Newsletter: September 2002
Greetings!
New MSN Site Features Advanced Citynet Technology
MSNsportsNET, the official online source for news about West Virginia University athletics, is sporting a new look and new features thanks to advanced web technology from Citynet. Visitors will find new interactive features like daily fan polls, 24-hour score updates and a news database that lets fans find the information they want, faster and easier.
Some of the site's most impressive features, however, are actually behind the scenes. Citynet site automation makes posting new articles a breeze, and lets MSN editors determine exactly how long and where each item will appear on the site - all with just a few mouse clicks. Citynet can provide the same advanced functions for your web site - just call 1-800-903-8906 for more details.
While football takes center stage this month, MSNsportsNET covers all WVU athletics, from baseball to wrestling and everything in between. Take a look, at

Klez-H Surges as Most Common Virus
Citynet uses powerful blocking software to keep viruses from reaching your inbox, with more than 125,000 infected email messages turned away each month. The Citynet system sends a message back to the sender, notifying them that their email was infected. For the last few months, the "Klez-H" virus has been rampant. In August, for example, more than 15,000 Klez-infected emails were blocked. Klez-H not only tries to infect all of your own email contacts, but it also can delete important files from your own computer. (For detailed information on Klez-H, see
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32klezh.html.)
While Citynet stops hundreds and thousands of virus-carrying emails each day, infections can still spread quickly through local networks, instant messaging, infected disks, and even through encrypted emails. For that reason, we strongly recommend that every Citynet customer use a personal virus-blocking software program. Examples include Norton Anti-Virus, McAfee, and PC-Cillin.
Email Invoicing Options Save Time, Money
If you're still receiving your Citynet bill through snail mail, here's a quick way to save some time and money: Switch to email-only invoicing and you'll cut $2 off your bill every month. Email invoicing is available with both automatic withdrawal or credit-card billing. ACH ("Automatic Cash Handling") allows your Citynet bill to be paid directly from your bank account. Citynet also accepts all major credit cards. Either way, you'll still receive a full statement each month, via email.
You can switch to email-only invoicing by using the online Account Manager system available at
www.citynet.net, or by calling 1-800-881-2638. It's quick, easy - and it makes dollars and sense.
