Citynet Conferencing

Citynet is proud to announce our new teleconferencing service. How many times have you wished that you knew exactly where to turn when you need to communicate with a bunch of employees or customers all at the same time? You’ve checked with all "the big boys" about long distance conference calling but the rates of up $.27 per minute, per caller and the various set up fees were way out of line. Well, Citynet’s new Premium Conferencing provides you with a feature rich service which provides you instant access via the internet. Easy to setup, easy to use, easy to control, easy to afford, our all new Citynet Conferencing is fee free, no minimum charges, no recurring monthly access. You pay for only what you use – when you use it – at the lowest teleconferencing rate available, only $.09 ½ per minute, per caller. Just in case you are hard to convince, why not give our new Citynet Conferencing a try for FREE! Visit our new Citynet Conferencing website and enter your email address in the free area and click on "Create Conference". You’re ready to go. Of course the free system does not provide the features of our Premium Service, but it’s a great way to give us a try! Visit our new Conferencing website (http://www.citynetconferencing.com) for all the details, or call us at 1 800.903.8906.

Citynet Wholesale

Citynet’s Wholesale division saw its strongest third quarter in company history. One of the most exciting indicators of the strong resurgence in the wholesale market is that Citynet has increased its customer base by 35% this year. Citynet Wholesale’s marketing efforts have been focused on letting the carrier, wireless and cable industry providers know that we are expanding and intensifying our regional focus and that we can now offer additional services by partnering with our Retail division. Our participation in the CompTel trade show in Orlando this month was a huge success. Attendance was up significantly over the past two years and there were many sales leads generated as a result of the show.

Podcasting

Sound Off! New Podcast Manager - from Citynet Web Development – is available NOW! Citynet Web Development has built a new Podcast Manager that provides a web based interface to easily manage the audio content (Podcasts) that appears on your website. The manager has several features that are useful to you and your website administrator. Podcasts may be given a useful and descriptive name, display a brief summary, post date and playtime, and be archived. All that sounds great, but what is "Podcasting"?

Podcasting is a method of publishing audio programs via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of new files (usually MP3s) that automatically download onto portable players or personal computers.

Podcasting is unique from other types of online media delivery because it uses a feed such as RSS (Really Simple Syndication) to deliver files. Podcasting enables you to create self-published, audio shows, and gives broadcast radio programs a new distribution method. Listeners may subscribe to feeds using "podcatching" software, which periodically checks for and downloads new content automatically.

To listen to the syndicated feeds on your computer, you need to download Podcatching software. There are many free or commercial Podcatching applications available for download. Here are a select few:

  • iPodder (PC) - http://ipodder.sourceforge.net/index.php
  • Doppler (PC) - http://www.dopplerradio.net/
  • iPodderX (BOTH) - http://ipodderx.com/
  • Playpod (Mac) - http://www.iggsoftware.com/playpod/

    Podcast Customer

Professional Services of America, based in Parkersburg, WV, is our first Citynet customer to offer Podcasting to their website visitors. This new addition to their website is being used for client training purposes. It was created by PSA Vice President, Jim Zotti. "We currently are looking at our podcasting as a Beta offering in training. We plan on expanding our utilization in the near future. Citynet did a great job in helping us with this new venture. It is very easy to use and to record the Podcast material." Zotti said. You can find PSA’s Podcasts on their website (http://www.psaresponse.com).
