Citynet Newsletter: May 2002
Greetings!
Citynet is reaching out to customers, clients, community and friends this month through a variety of new initiatives and services. Highlighting this month's newsletter is the success of our company Open House, held May 1 at our new headquarters in Bridgeport. Citynet also is supporting education in our local communities, and offering round-the-clock customer service and support to commercial as well as individual customers. The details:
Hundreds Attend First Citynet Open House
Hundreds of clients, neighbors, dignitaries, friends and family turned out for Citynet's first-ever Open House, held May 1 at the company's new corporate headquarters in Bridgeport. With area media looking on, city officials joined Jim Martin, Citynet CEO, and Drew Pomeroy, VP for Sales and Marketing, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially welcoming Citynet to the community. Visitors were given tours of Citynet's new state-of-the-art facilities, including development and customer service centers as well as the technology infrastructure for West Virginia's largest Internet network. Many Citynet employees, meanwhile, took the opportunity to show off their new workplace to friends and family members. Visitors enjoyed food and refreshments and a chance to see West Virginia's largest Internet company in action. The Open House was just another way to say thank you to all of the people, both inside the company and out, who have helped make Citynet West Virginia's undisputed leader in Internet services.
Scholarship and School Discount Programs Initiated
Citynet is partnering with Harrison County schools to provide scholarships and low-cost Internet service, and we can do the same for schools in your community as well.
Citynet recently established a $500 scholarship for a deserving Harrison County student as part of a pilot program to make low-cost Internet service available to every student and educator who wants it. Under the program, any Harrison County student, parent, teacher or administrator can receive discounts off Citynet's already low rates for unlimited Internet access. If you're interested in establishing the same kind of program in your own community, contact your school administrators and have them get in touch with Citynet Commercial Sales at 1-800-903-8906. Or, simply drop us an email at
sales@citynet.net and we'll follow up for you.

Election Returns to be Available Online
It's political season again in West Virginia with the state primary election coming up May 14. And now, state residents can catch all of the election returns right on the Internet.
MetroNews, the statewide radio network, plans to stream election results from across the state onto its award-winning web site designed and developed by Citynet. Look for the election returns to begin rolling in around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14th. The site is

The MetroNews site was recently honored as a winner of the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence, given annually by the national Radio and Television News Directors Association. Citynet's expert web developers can make your site an award-winner, too. Call our Commercial Sales Department at 1-800-903-8906 today to discuss the possibilities.
